Volleyball Recap: Meridian Takes a Loss

Meridian lost against Shelbyville back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hawks took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-15.

Alyssa Meisenhelter paced Meridian's offense, picking up eight kills. Meisenhelter got some help from Julia Meisenhelter and her nine assists. Julia was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 14-19. As for Shelbyville, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-9 record this season.

Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shelbyville, they will face off against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
