Baseball Recap: Smoky Valley Takes a Loss

Smoky Valley fell victim to Pratt and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Greenbacks, falling 17-0. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Greenbacks recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Smoky Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Pratt, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Looking ahead, Pratt will square off against Hesston at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Greenbacks have won three straight at home, while the Swathers won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Smoky Valley will be paying especially close attention to Pratt's match: after Pratt faces off against Nickerson, they'll take on Smoky Valley again on Friday.
