Basketball Recap: Sunrise Mountain Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Kellis

On Thursday, Sunrise Mountain faced Kellis in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Sunrise Mountain Mustangs took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kellis Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-53 back in January.

Sunrise Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 22-4. As for Kellis, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 24-2.

As of now, neither Sunrise Mountain nor Kellis have any future games scheduled.
