Volleyball Recap: Corona del Sol Takes a Loss

Corona del Sol was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Millennium Tigers. If the Aztecs were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Tigers when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-23, 25-15, 20-25, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Corona del Sol saw an underclassman step up: freshman Evan Cornish had 16 digs. Those 16 digs set a new season-high mark for Cornish. Nathaniel Jenkins also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Corona del Sol's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Millennium, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.

Corona del Sol has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Maryvale on the 3rd. As for Millennium, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Boulder Creek on the 3rd.
