Basketball Game Preview: Central Rockets vs. Killian Cougars

The Central Rockets are taking a road trip to take on the Killian Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Central will head into Friday's contest out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They took a blow against Northwestern, falling 56-13. The loss continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Bulls: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Killian waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 48-40 victory over TERRA Environmental. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Killian's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Central came up short against Killian when the teams last played back in January of 2022, falling 54-42. Thankfully for Central, Jada Beneby (who went 9 for 16 on her way to 19 points and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
