Basketball Recap: Columbia Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Columbia Cougars were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to the Hasbrouck Heights Aviators. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Hasbrouck Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season.

Columbia and Hasbrouck Heights are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Columbia will face off against Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Thursday. As for Hasbrouck Heights, they will take on Bergen Charter on Wednesday. Bergen Charter's defense has only allowed 25 points per game this season, so Hasbrouck Heights' offense will have their work cut out for them.
