Basketball Game Preview: Melissa Cardinals vs. Denison Yellow Jackets

Melissa and Denison are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. The Melissa Cardinals will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Denison Yellow Jackets at 5:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Melissa has four straight wins, Denison has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Melissa humbled Anna with a 51-24 victory. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Denison came up short against McKinney North on Tuesday, falling 46-25. That's two games in a row now that the Yellow Jackets have lost by exactly 21 points.

Denison's defeat dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Melissa, their victory bumped their record up to 20-8.

Melissa beat Denison 47-40 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Does Melissa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Denison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
