Football Game Preview: Smith-Cotton Tigers vs. Helias Crusaders

Smith-Cotton is 0-5 against Helias since October of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m.

Smith-Cotton is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Capital City on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Tigers took a blow against the Cavaliers, falling 54-7. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-7.

Meanwhile, Helias put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past Jefferson City to the tune of 49-14. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won five games by 28 points or more so far this season.

Smith-Cotton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Helias, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Smith-Cotton took a serious blow against Helias when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 51-8. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Tigers were down 48-0.
