Basketball Game Preview: Rockford East E-Rabs vs. Guilford Vikings

Rockford East hasn't had much luck against Guilford recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rockford East E-Rabs will head out to square off against the Guilford Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Rockford East has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Rockford East is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Jefferson on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Rockford East lost 64-42 to Jefferson.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Guilford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Harlem on Friday as Guilford made off with a 60-39 victory. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Huskies are ranked 382nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Guilford pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.9 points per game. As for Rockford East, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Rockford East was dealt a bruising 58-9 loss at the hands of Guilford in their previous matchup back in February. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Rockford East was down 40-7.
