Recap: Belton-Honea Path Bears vs. Southside Tigers
The Belton-Honea Path Bears lost against the Southside Tigers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Belton-Honea Path received a tough blow as they fell 45-31 to Southside. Belton-Honea Path has struggled against Southside recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Belton-Honea Path saw an underclassman step up: Kaylee Dubose scored eight points along with seven rebounds. Dubose continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Demya Hill, who scored six points.
Belton-Honea Path's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Southside, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4.
Belton-Honea Path will head out on the road to square off against Wren at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wren presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Belton-Honea Path in South Carolina (Wren is ranked ninth, while Belton-Honea Path is ranked 166th). As for Southside, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Fountain Inn at 6:00 p.m. Fountain Inn is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
