Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask DeKalb). They blew past the Woodlan Warriors 21-2 on Saturday. The Barons have beaten the Warriors the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Warriors has come to flipping the script.

Aydan Parr made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, DeKalb got a massive performance out of Malachi Webb, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Webb a new career-high. Brady Vince was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

DeKalb always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

DeKalb's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Woodlan, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: DeKalb beat the Warriors by a score of 14-0 later that day.
