Baseball Recap: Morgan Has No Trouble Against South Summit

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Morgan had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against the South Summit Wildcats as they made off with a 9-3 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Beck Sheffield was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Easton Venz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Morgan's victory bumped their record up to 18-8. As for South Summit, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Morgan will have a chance to go back-to-back against South Summit: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
