Basketball Recap: Brewer Comes Up Short

Brewer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 70-27 loss at the hands of the Vinemont Eagles. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-14.

Despite the loss, Brewer saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hannah Morrison posted nine points. Morrison has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last eight times she's played.

Brewer's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Vinemont, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.

Brewer will challenge Fairview at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Vinemont, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Bernard Prep at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
