After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hillsboro, Perryville was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They won by a set and slipped past the DeSoto Dragons 3-2. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Dragons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Perryville wouldn't go down easily and took DeSoto into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-18, 23-25, 22-25, 25-18, 17-15.

Kaeli Klaus paced Perryville's offense, picking up 16 kills. Klaus got some help from Allyson Burns and her 22 assists. Finally, Lydia Schlimpert kept Perryville's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Perryville moved to 6-11-1 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for DeSoto, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13-2.

Perryville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Central on the 30th. As for DeSoto, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Windsor on the 30th.
