Basketball Recap: Durant Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

There's no place like home for Durant, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They took down the Riverview Sharks 55-41 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Durant's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Niko Sosa led the charge by going 5 for 10 on his way to 11 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Sosa has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Tyler Gonser was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

Durant was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Durant moved to 4-12 with that win, which also ended their eight-game losing streak. As for Riverview, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Durant will take on Plant City at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plant City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.9 points per game this season. As for Riverview, they will challenge Brandon at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverview is facing Brandon at the right time seeing as Brandon is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
