Basketball Game Preview: Willard Crimson Flashes vs. Vermilion Sailors

The Willard Crimson Flashes will square off against the Vermilion Sailors at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Willard and five for Vermilion.

On Tuesday, Willard came up short against Clear Fork and fell 54-44.

Meanwhile, Vermilion played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 77-30 loss at the hands of Westlake. The Sailors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-20.

Willard will have to contain Brock Meyers as he made an impact in Vermilion's last game. He posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Vermilion's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Willard, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Everything went Willard's way against Vermilion in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as Willard made off with a 71-49 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Willard since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
