Basketball Recap: Sandhills/Thedford Comes Up Short

Sandhills/Thedford was the 64-62 winner over Sandhills Valley when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sandhills/Thedford Knights fell 47-37 to the Sandhills Valley Mavericks on Tuesday.

Sandhills Valley had a senior duo take command as Kyle Kramer dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards and Leyton Connell posted 11 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for Connell. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Goosey, who earned ten points and five rebounds.

Sandhills/Thedford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Sandhills Valley, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Sandhills/Thedford will face off against Anselmo-Merna at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sandhills Valley has already played their next game, a 54-38 victory against Maxwell on the 23rd.
