West Davidson is 0-10 against Ledford since March of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The West Davidson Dragons will be playing at home against the Ledford Panthers at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.
West Davidson had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Wheatmore on Friday. Everything went West Davidson's way against Wheatmore as West Davidson made off with a 16-6 win. The Dragons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Hannah Rollins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with one home run.
In other batting news, West Davidson got a massive performance out of Gracie Michael, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Meghan Leonard, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
West Davidson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Ledford put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Eastern Randolph with a sharp 16-1 victory. Fans of the Panthers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Like West Davidson, Ledford also got a great game from a two-way player: Leah Leonard. She struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Leonard has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Ava Francis was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Cassidy Murray was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
The win got West Davidson back to even at 2-2. As for Ledford, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. West Davidson has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Ledford struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Davidson couldn't quite finish off Ledford when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 5-3. Will West Davidson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
