Softball Recap: Alexis Alvarado Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Caruthers

Fowler won the last time they faced Caruthers and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Redcats never let the Blue Raiders get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Redcats, who have now won five games by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Fowler got a great performance from Bradie Monis as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Monis has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Alexis Alvarado was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Izzy Lopez was another key player, scoring three runs while going 5-for-5.

Fowler hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Fowler's victory bumped their record up to 8-4-1. As for Caruthers, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Caruthers has already played their next contest, a 13-3 win against Fresno Christian on the 8th. Hopefully Fowler payed attention to the Blue Raiders' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Blue Raiders at 5:45 p.m. on the 10th.
