Softball Recap: Beaverhead County Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Beaverhead County took a 13-run loss the last time they faced off against Hamilton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Beavers never let the Broncs get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Beavers have won by just one run.

Not much got past Adyson Creighton, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Hamilton off the board. Creighton has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Beaverhead County's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Gibson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Kinzy Creighton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Beaverhead County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Beaverhead County will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Corvallis at 3:00 p.m. As for Hamilton, they are taking a road trip to square off against Stevensville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellowjackets have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
