Baseball Recap: Mica Mountain Has No Trouble Against Sabino

Mica Mountain won the last time they faced Sabino and things went their way on Monday too. The Thunderbolts put the hurt on the Sabercats with a sharp 12-1 win.

Landen Kampmier looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Mica Mountain is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-9-1 otherwise.

At the plate, Raydon Rocha was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Elijah Higuera, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Mica Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Mica Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 8-10-1. As for Sabino, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.

Coming up, Mica Mountain will head out to challenge Mingus at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Marauders will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Thunderbolts surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sabino, they will face off against Thatcher at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Sabercats are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
