Basketball Game Preview: Canton Tigers vs. Pontotoc Warriors

The Canton Tigers will face off against the Pontotoc Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Canton sitting on 16 straight wins and Pontotoc on six.

Canton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They beat Laurel by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 42-40.

Meanwhile, Pontotoc faced Florence in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Pontotoc walked away with a 46-36 victory over Florence.

Pontotoc's win bumped their record up to 23-5. As for Canton, their victory bumped their record up to 28-5.

Canton took a serious blow against Pontotoc in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 68-32. Can Canton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
