Baseball Recap: Canisius Comes Up Short

After flying high against St. Mary's on Friday, Canisius came back down to earth. The Crusaders took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hamburg Bulldogs on Saturday. The Crusaders were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in March of 2023.

David Barczak was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Monti, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Canisius now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Hamburg, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2-1.

Looking ahead, Canisius is taking a road trip to face off against Nichols at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hamburg, they will welcome Williamsville South at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
