Volleyball Game Preview: Glenn Grizzlies vs. Vista Ridge Rangers

Glenn hasn't had much luck against Vista Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m.

Glenn is leaving town to face Vista Ridge after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Glenn fell just short of Bowie by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

Glenn actually scored more points across those five sets (108-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 20-25, 25-22, 13-25, 15-11.

Vista Ridge had won nine straight home games dating back to last season and Grayson Schill did his part to make it ten on Wednesday. Vista Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Round Rock, sneaking past 3-2 thanks to Schill, who had 17 digs and 12 assists. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 12 or more in each of the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season.

Vista Ridge had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 24-26, 25-19, 25-21, 15-10.

Glenn came up short against Vista Ridge when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Schill, who had 23 digs and four aces. Now that Glenn knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
