Basketball Recap: Cordova Takes a Loss

After flying high against Oakman on Thursday, Cordova came back down to earth. The Cordova Blue Devils took a 53-39 bruising from the Dora Bulldogs on Friday. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Dora's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bella Reese, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 boards. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Reese has scored at least a third of Dora's points. Another player making a difference was Ja'Laya Harris, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Cordova now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Dora, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Cordova will host Curry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dora, they and Oakman will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Dora is facing Oakman at the right time seeing as Oakman is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
