Recap: Buena Bulldogs vs. Santa Barbara Dons
The Buena Bulldogs fell victim to the Santa Barbara Dons''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 43-0 loss at the hands of the Dons. Buena has struggled against Santa Barbara recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Joey Reynoso threw for 40 yards on five of ten attempts. On the ground, Aaron Cesario rushed for 30 yards.
Among those leading the charge was Koa Herrera, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Kai Mault also helped out with an impressive 87 receiving yards.
Buena's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Rio Mesa. As for Santa Barbara, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Buena does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Santa Barbara will head out on the road to face off against St. Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (St. Paul is ranked 87th, while Santa Barbara is ranked 108th).
