Baseball Recap: East Juniata Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when East Juniata and Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Tigers came up short against the WolfPack, falling 10-2. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the WolfPack earlier this season, when they won 14-10.

Trent Price was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Camden Feltman also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

East Juniata has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.

Looking ahead, East Juniata will head out to face off against Juniata at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Halifax at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the WolfPack surely won't give up without a fight.
