Basketball Recap: Wellpinit Takes a Loss

Wellpinit and Ocosta squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Wellpinit had to settle for second. They took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ocosta Wildcats.

Ocosta's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sonny Beard led the charge by dropping a double-double with 11 points and 18 boards. Beard is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Kayden Turner was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Wellpinit has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-7 record this season. Ocosta pushed their record up to 17-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Wellpinit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ocosta has already played their next matchup (against Lummi), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
