Basketball Game Preview: St. Francis Knights vs. Mt. Bethel Christian Academy Eagles

The St. Francis Knights will challenge the Mt. Bethel Christian Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in St. Francis' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.

St. Francis is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Walker just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. The match between them and the Wolverines didn't end well, with St. Francis falling 71-57.

Meanwhile, Mt. Bethel Christian Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They breezed by the Rams to the tune of 54-27. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Rams are ranked 504th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mt. Bethel Christian Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points per game. As for St. Francis, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

Things could have been worse for St. Francis, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-47 loss to Mt. Bethel Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can St. Francis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
