Volleyball Recap: Washington Takes a Loss

Washington suffered their biggest loss since September 23rd on Tuesday. They came up short against the Musselman Applemen, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Applemen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Washington may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 16 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-16, 25-16.

Linzey Wick paced Washington's offense, picking up five kills. Wick got some help from Della Brown and her 16 assists. Kaylee Robinson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Musselman's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alycia Miller, who had 14 digs. Another player making a difference was Bianca Hutzler, who had 14 assists and four digs.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17-4. As for Musselman, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8.

Looking ahead, Washington will take on Martinsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Musselman, they will face off against Cardinal Newman at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
