Hoggard and Laney are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hoggard came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-5 to Pinecrest.

Christian Atkinson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Bair Kuneyl also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Laney came tearing into Wednesday's match with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Eagles.

TJ Ziermann was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Gore, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Laney pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Hoggard, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Hoggard couldn't quite finish off Laney when the teams last played back in March and fell 6-4. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
