Basketball Recap: P.K. Yonge Blue Wave vs. Hawthorne Hornets
P.K. Yonge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawthorne Hornets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Wave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-55 back in December of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hawthorne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chasion Wilson, who posted eight points in addition to 15 boards and five assists. Dacarion Debose was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 16 points.
P.K. Yonge's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Hawthorne, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.
