Recap: Claiborne Christian Crusaders vs. Gibsland-Coleman Bulldogs

The Claiborne Christian Crusaders lost against the Gibsland-Coleman Bulldogs back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Claiborne Christian's rough 78-53 loss to Gibsland-Coleman might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Claiborne Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while Gibsland-Coleman is ranked 139th).

Gibsland-Coleman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from DeAvery Durham, who scored 29 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Durham continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Demarquis Durham, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Claiborne Christian dropped their record down to 17-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Gibsland-Coleman, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-9.

Claiborne Christian has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Choudrant at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. One thing working in Choudrant's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matchups. Gibsland-Coleman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
