Basketball Recap: Greater Atlanta Christian Falls Despite Big Games from DJ Newman and Baer Bailey + How To Watch

Greater Atlanta Christian lost against St. Pius X Catholic back in December of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Spartans fell 63-56 to the Golden Lions. The Spartans were down 57-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Greater Atlanta Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Baer Bailey, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 17 points along with six rebounds and five blocks, and DJ Newman, who went 5-for-12 en route to 17 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Damon Horton, who posted seven points.

Greater Atlanta Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for St. Pius X Catholic, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Greater Atlanta Christian will head out to take on Lovett at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Pius X Catholic, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against North Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
