Volleyball Recap: Mead Has No Trouble Against Centaurus

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ralston Valley, Mead was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Centaurus Warriors. The victory continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-16, 27-25.

Mead had a senior duo take command as Emmy Tecu had ten digs and three aces and Alana Costello had 11 digs and two assists. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Tecu. Kamdyn Morris also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Mead's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Centaurus, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mead will take on rival Horizon at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Centaurus is set to square off against their familiar foe Silver Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
