Basketball Recap: Carrboro Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Carrboro took on East Chapel Hill on Friday. The Jaguars were beaten by the Wildcats 75-46. The Jaguars lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 67-61 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Carrboro lost, don't look at Jake McGrath. Despite the final result, he shot 55% from the field on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. Kiran Kamath was another key player, putting up seven points.

East Chapel Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Bryan led the charge by going 6-for-11 to rack up 15 points and three steals. Bryan is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was William Characklis, who posted 15 points and four steals.

Carrboro's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for East Chapel Hill, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Carrboro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-26 loss against Northwood on the 2nd. As for East Chapel Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 66-30 defeat against Apex Friendship on the 2nd.
