Baseball Game Preview: Breese Central Cougars vs. Teutopolis Wooden Shoes

Breese Central is 0-4 against Teutopolis since April of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Cougars will head out to face off against the Wooden Shoes at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Breese Central had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Gibault Catholic on Monday. The Cougars blew past the Hawks 11-3. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Teutopolis had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory.

Teutopolis' win bumped their record up to 26-5. As for Breese Central, their victory bumped their record up to 20-10.

Breese Central might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Teutopolis in their previous matchup back in April of 2018. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
