Soccer Game Preview: Salinas vs. Watsonville

Salinas is 2-8 against Watsonville since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Salinas Cowboys will host the Watsonville Wildcatz at 5:45 p.m. Salinas' last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Salinas is headed into Monday's following a draw, the team's first since December 4. Neither they nor Pajaro Valley could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Watsonville made sure to put some goals up on the board against Palma on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Chieftains out 4-3. Considering the Wildcatz's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Salinas' draw makes their record 5-2-4 this season. As for Watsonville, the win got them back to even at 2-2-5.

Salinas skirted past Watsonville 1-0 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Salinas repeat their success, or does Watsonville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
