Central hadn't done well against Northgate recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Vikings 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Central who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 17-25, 15-13.

Macey Mount paced Central's offense, picking up 12 kills. Mount got some help from Abby Kreft and her 14 assists.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Northgate, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Coincidentally, Central and Northgate will both be playing Landmark Christian the next time they take the court. The Vikings will head out to face the War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
