Softball Recap: Perry Bluejays vs. Greene County Rams
There's no place like home for Perry, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Everything went their way against the Greene County Rams on Wednesday as the Perry Bluejays made off with an 11-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Perry considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Maci Tunink made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Tunink was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and a double.
In other batting news, Karagyn Whelchel was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and a triple. Another player making a difference was Cate Erickson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Perry's victory bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Greene County, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.
