Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Crusaders vs. Clayton Comets

The Trinity Christian Crusaders will face off against the Clayton Comets at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Trinity Christian comes in on six and Clayton on three.

On Tuesday, Trinity Christian earned a 63-56 win over Cape Fear Christian Academy.

Trinity Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was JaVon Motta out in front who shot 62% from the field to rack up 21 points and six rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Motta now owns an excellent 42.1% three-point shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex 'AJ' Sanford, who went 6-for-11 on his way to 18 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clayton). They had just enough and edged out Fike 78-75. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Comets have posted since February 18th.

Trinity Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Clayton, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
