Meanwhile, Mountain Brook faced Chelsea in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Mountain Brook had just enough and edged Chelsea out 51-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted since November 14, 2023.

Mountain Brook's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Pelham, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6.
