Football Game Preview: St. Petersburg Green Devils vs. Hillsborough Terriers

The St. Petersburg Green Devils will face off against the Hillsborough Terriers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Petersburg is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

St. Petersburg is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 31-7 margin over Chamberlain. The Green Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Ellie Swain had an outrageously good game as she picked up 128 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 34 yards. Madison Harting made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hillsborough beat Gateway 12-6 on Wednesday.

St. Petersburg better keep an eye on Nydia Sepulveda. She was instrumental in Hillsborough's win, rushing for 59 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 87 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Sepulveda has posted since back in February.

St. Petersburg pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.3 points on average over those games. As for Hillsborough, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
