Football Recap: Uriah Gatlin Key Part of Team Effort in Go-Devils Win

Gurdon won the last time they faced Spring Hill and things went their way on Friday too. The Go-Devils enjoyed a cozy 24-6 victory over the Bears. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Go-Devils.

Gurdon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Uriah Gatlin, who rushed for 158 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Gatlin is becoming a predictor of the Go-Devils' success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 4-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Gurdon also got a significant boost from Eric Hughes, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Gurdon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 318 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Gurdon's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Spring Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
