Softball Recap: Muhlenberg Muhls vs. Governor Mifflin Mustangs

After flying high against Antietam last Tuesday, Muhlenberg came back down to earth. The Muhlenberg Muhls fell 22-18 to the Governor Mifflin Mustangs on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Muhlenberg in their matchups with Governor Mifflin: they've now lost five in a row.

Kaylee Jablonski and Erin Smith did some serious damage despite the final result: Jablonski went 2-for-5 with a home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Smith went 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Missimer, who scored four runs while going 2-for-5.

Even though they lost, Muhlenberg lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Muhlenberg now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Governor Mifflin, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Muhlenberg will be playing in front of their home fans against Wilson at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Governor Mifflin, they will head out on the road to challenge Emmaus at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Governor Mifflin is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
