Baseball Recap: Hornell Takes a Loss

Letchworth hit Hornell with a five-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Raiders fell 13-9 to the Legends. If the Red Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 5-4 to the Legends when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Logan Vondracek and Brody Flaitz stepped up to the plate in a big way. Vondracek went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Flaitz got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sheamus Khork, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Hornell's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Letchworth, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-14.

Hornell has already played their next matchup, a 6-5 victory against Livonia on the 20th. As for Letchworth, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-1 win against Warsaw on the 20th.
