Volleyball Recap: Messmer Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Messmer can now relate to. They came up short against the Pius XI Catholic Popes on Thursday, falling 3-0. The defeat leaves the Bishops still looking for their first win of the season.

Pius XI Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lilly Walsh, who had 25 assists and three aces. Those 25 assists gave Walsh a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zoey Bucio, who had seven digs and five aces.

Messmer's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Pius XI Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-18.

As of now, neither Messmer nor the Popes have any future games scheduled.
