Basketball Recap: Centerville Comes Up Short

Centerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 51-35 fall against the Lovelady Lions. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1420th, while the Lions are ranked 267th).

Centerville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Lovelady, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-4.

Centerville will face off against Latexo at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Lovelady, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lovelady Lions take on the Leon Cougars at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Lovelady has won seven straight at home, while Leon won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
