Preview: TMI-Episcopal Panthers vs. Smithson Valley Rangers
The TMI-Episcopal Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Smithson Valley Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. TMI-Episcopal has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 270 points over their last four matchups.
TMI-Episcopal pushed their score all the way to 69 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 76-69 to East Central. While losing is never fun, TMI-Episcopal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 481st, while East Central is ranked 92nd).
Meanwhile, Smithson Valley came up short against Stevens on Saturday and fell 60-50.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jake Goode, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Goode continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Gavin Londrie was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
TMI-Episcopal has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Smithson Valley, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Everything went TMI-Episcopal's way against Smithson Valley in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as TMI-Episcopal made off with a 70-48 win. Will TMI-Episcopal repeat their success, or does Smithson Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
