Basketball Recap: Plainfield East Bengals vs. Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan
Plainfield East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were beaten by the Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan 81-40. The Bengals lost against the Caravan in their previous head to head back in December of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 55-50 score last time.
It was another big night for Grant Best, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards for Chicago Mt. Carmel. Best's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Noah Mister was another key player, going 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points.
Plainfield East's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Chicago Mt. Carmel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plainfield East will take on Plainfield North at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chicago Mt. Carmel, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Montini Catholic at 7:00 p.m.
